Leroy R. Block

Leroy F. Block,age 69 of Dandridge, TN passed away Monday, August 26, 2002 following a brief illness. He was born January 8, 1933 in Wenona, IL, the son of the late Paul and Meta Beckman Block. He was a retired employee of Owens Illinois Glass Co. of Streater, IL following 35 years of service. Leroy served in the US Air Force and was of the Lutheran faith and following his retirement he and his wife Charlotte resided for 18 years in Yucaipa, CA before recently moving to Dandridge, TN. Preceded in death by his parents, a brother and 2 sisters, he is survived by: wife, Charlotte Allen Block of Dandridge, TN; daughters, Deborah (Steve) Clanin of Toluca, IL, Susan (John) McClure of Kokak, TN; sons, Paul (Janet) Block of Upland, Ca, Gregory (Jerica) Block of Ranchocucumonga, CA, Jeffre;y (Kristi) Block of Sarasota, FL; and 7 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Funeral services Saturday, August 31, 2002 at 11L00 a.m. in the Chapel of Hurst Funeral Home of Wenona, IL with Reverend Jeff Moncier officiating. Interment to follow in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona, IL. Arrangements by Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge, TN.
