LEON C. (FROG) HOWELL, age 85, of Dayton, OH, passed away March 26, 2009 Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, OH. He was born April 25, 1922 in Jefferson City, TN. Preceded in death by parents, Will and Carrie Howell Watkins; three brothers, one sister; wives, Eula May Howell and Ruth Howell; ex-wife, Lucille Howell Moore. He is survived by one brother, John F. (Ellen Ruth) Howell; nephew, Ronald Howell, niece, Deborah Howell; step-daughter, Ruth A. House. He joined the Star of Bethel AME Zion Church as a teenager. He worked as a filling station attendant at several stations in Jefferson City, and as station attendant and mechanics helper in Jefferson City and in Dayton, OH, as a mechanics helper and as a heavy equipment mechanic in Dayton, OH for Boyd Construction Company and for Freddy Langston Company. The family asks that special recognition be given to Freddy and Marie Langston, who were his friends, family and primary caregivers. And thanks to the doctors, nurses and anyone who had a part in making his life comfortable. Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2009 at Westview Cemetery in Jefferson City with Rev. E. O. Cole and Rev. Wilson Cottner officiating.
