Lena Cate Holbert

LENA CATE HOLBERT, age 86 of Kodak, TN passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2019. She was born and raised in Sevier Co. the daughter of the late P.W. and Lena Lavista Bryan Cate and was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years Bobby Bruce Holbert and son, Phil Holbert; several brothers and sisters. Lena was a life-long and active member of the Kodak United Methodist Church and worked many years as a teacher’s assistant at Northview Elementary. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Connie and David Allen of Andersonville, TN; grandchildren, Sara Allen of Charleston, SC, Emily Allen (Mark) Crotta of Clovis, NM, David R. (Kayla) Allen II of Norfolk, VA, Rachael Allen (Zac) Denmark of Ft. Mill, SC, Ethan (Patience) Allen of Rapid City, SD, Laura Byrd of Kodak, TN and Sarita Holbert of Knoxville, TN; daughter-in-law, Kim Holbert Bates; sister, Willie Cate; sisters-in-law, Judy Mendenhall, Betty Cate and Barbara Cate; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the Kodak United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2923 Bryan Rd, Kodak, TN 37764. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 7, 2019, 2:00pm at the Kodak United Methodist Church with Rev. Brad Hyde and Rev. Melissa Smith officiating. Interment to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 to 2:00pm prior to services at the church.
