Lefford M. (L.M.) Whillock

LEFFORD M. (L.M.) WHILLOCK, age 84, of Jefferson City, TN, a resident of Darby House, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Tennova Regional Medical Center, Knoxville. He was a member of the Magna View Baptist Church. He was retired after 32 years from American Enka. L.M. was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was the son of the late Andy and Alice (Atchley) Whillock . He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Edith Cotter; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby and Gus Lewis and Mabel Jo and Fernley Atkins; brothers-in-law, Charles J. Cotter and Eddie L. Collins; nephew, Rich and Denise Lewis. L.M. is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Carolyn C. Whillock of Jefferson City; brother, William E. (Bill) Whillock and his wife Shirley of Dandridge; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary Ruth Collins, Ann and Gary Ashley of Jefferson City; niece, Lisa Flanary and her husband, Russ of Knoxville; nephews, Will Ellis and wife Morgan of Georgia, Jason Ashley and wife Tammy of New Market, Randy Ashley and wife, Heather of Talbott, Phillip Ashley and wife Julie of Georgia; many great nieces and great nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Darby House and their staff for all the love and support that they have given them and the staff at Physicians Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, 7:00pm at the Magna View Baptist Church with Rev. George Miller and Rev. Bob Neal officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 5:00 to 7:00pm prior to services at the church. Family and friends will meet Wednesday at 10:00am at Farrar Funeral Home to proceed to Jefferson Memorial Gardens for a 11:00am graveside service with military honors.
