LARRY EDWARD “PAPPY” GARTEN, of Dandridge, TN went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. He was a member of Mabscott Christian Church of Mabscott, WV. He has been a salesman with Raleigh Motor Sales, vice president and general manager of Tom Winner Truck and Bus, salesman with Tarr Chevrolet, tour bus driver with Dixie Chicks and Clint Black, and was the founding member of the Crossmen Quartet Preceded in death by wife, Gina Jewell Garten; father, Melvin R. Garten. He is survived by son, Larry R. Garten and fiancé Missy Morgan; daughter and son-in-law, Tobey Garten Lewanski and Eric; grandchildren, Lela Jewell Garten, Dakota Garten Lewanski, Erica Linda Jewell Lewanski; mother, Arla Garten; brother, Bobby Garten (Sandy); sister, Wilma Calhoun (Harold), Sue Baldwin (Bill); special friend, Sandy Randolph; several very special nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Farrar Funeral Home with Rev. John Thomason and Howie McKinney officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will meet at Hillcrest Cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service. The Crossmen Quartet members will serve as honorary pallbearers.
