LARRY D. CARMON, age 62, of Talbott, TN passed away on August 15, 2011 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a lifelong member of Mary?s Chapel United Methodist Church in Bean Station, where he taught the adult Sunday School class and served on various committees. Larry served in the US Air Force in Vietnam and retired from Renold Jeffrey after 38 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl J. Carmon. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lois (May) Carmon; daughter and son-in-law, Natalie and Jamie Davis of Knoxville; daughter, Amy Carmon of Jefferson City; special granddaughter, Lauren Davis of Knoxville; mother, Lillian Carmon of Talbott; brother and sister-in-law, Rickey and Sue Carmon of Morristown. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice for their loving care and compassion. The funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, August 17, 2011 at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City with the Reverend Betty Shirley, Arthur Bunch and David Long officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service. Honorary pallbearers will be the Mary?s Chapel United Methodist Church Men?s Club, Bill May, and Luke Morgan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice, 506 W. Morris Blvd., Morristown, TN 37813, or Mary?s Chapel United Methodist Church, c/o Linda Rich, 309 Cherokee Drive, Bean Station, TN 37708.
