L. Carolyn Martin

Letha Carolyn Martin, age 75, passed away in her home in Dandridge, TN on April 26th, 2020. She was Born on December 20, 1944. Miss Carolyn, also known as “momma or mamaw Carolyn”, was quite the spunky lady with a contagious smile and humor that could light up the entire room. She faced many obstacles throughout her life, including losing two children and surviving breast cancer. Carolyn was a strong-willed woman, raising her kids as a single mom and being the only female to work in the Zinc Mines with all men. She was a selfless woman, eager to help others and wanted to bring joy to those around her. For her last birthday, she volunteered at a soup kitchen to help feed the homeless. Many lives will now be dull without the shine of her soul to light them up. Carolyn is preceded in death by: Robin Martin (daughter), Terry Martin (son), Ruth Whaley (mom), James Whaley (dad), and several other extended family members. Carolyn is survived by Taffy Marbury (daughter), Mark Marbury (son-in-law), Cheyenne (Marbury) Coleman (granddaughter), Carrady Marbury (granddaughter), Aiden Rickard (grandson), Alex Rickard (grandson), Roy Parrott (uncle), Elizabeth Fain Gibson (best friend of over 50 years), and many dearly loved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Carolyn was so loved and will be missed by many.
