KEITH GORDON QUARLES, age 82, of Jefferson City, TN passed away at 12:40 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2014 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Jefferson City. He retired as Land Superintendent at Asarco with 40 years of service. Following retirement he enjoyed his time working at Dollywood as a tram driver. He was an avid farmer, bowler and square dancer. Preceded in death by wife of 58 years, Katherine Ann Quarles; parents, James (Doc) and Cora Quarles; sister, Frances Sydnor; brothers, J. C. Quarles and Harold (Monk) Quarles. Survived by son, David Quarles of Chattanooga; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Teresa Quarles of Jefferson City; daughter and son-in-law, Lou Ann and Charlie Bean of Knoxville; grandchildren, Kelly, Kristi (Jason), Chris and Ashley; great-grandsons, Cole, Luke and Drew; sisters, Barbara (Bill) Craig and Wilma (Jim) Frazier; brother, Dwight (Sue) Quarles; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Farrar Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Wilder officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will gather at Seahorn’s Chapel Cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Friday morning for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service.
