KAY WHITT HENSLEY, age 64, of Jefferson City, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2010. Kay was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church and last attended First Baptist Church of Jefferson City. She was a loving and deeply devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her dedication to her family was extraordinary; her commitment to them knew no limits. In her heart and life, they always came first. She was preceded in death by her parents, Zelma and Pryor Whitt; and three brothers, Lonnie Carrol Whitt (infant), J.P. Whitt, and Ray Whitt. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 48 years, Jimmy Hensley; and her daughters and sons-in-law, Penny (Tommy) Cauthen, Sandy (Chuck) Catlett, J.J. (Danny) Shrader, and Christy Bracey (David) Scott. Kay leaves eleven grandchildren, Drew and Kayla Cauthen, Tyler and Lauren Catlett, Daniel, Conner, Jake, and Katy Shrader, Ben and Chloe Bracey, and Chelsea Scott. She also leaves four sisters, Vernice McCollough, Barbara Rogers, Wanda Miller, and Joyce Turley; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the daughter-in-law of Margaret Hensley and the late Cas Hensley. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 5th at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City, immediately followed by a memorial funeral service at 8 p.m. A private interment will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 6th. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Autism Society of America.
