Kathleen Clark Collins

KATHLEEN CLARK COLLINS, of Oak Ridge, TN passed away peacefully in her sleep at Chandler House Assisted Living in Jefferson City, TN on December 4, 2010. Her kind nature endeared her to everyone she encountered. She was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Oak Ridge. She was born in Cheraw, SC to Walter and Mary Clark on October 27, 1924. Preceded in death by husband of 38 years, Clair J. Collins, Ph. D of Oak Ridge; brothers, Henley and Walter Clark of South Carolina. Survived by sister, Ruth (Walter) Rutledge; brother, Frances ?Buddy? (Louise) Clark of South Carolina; son, Michael (Teresa) Collins of Jefferson City, TN; daughters, Kathy (Ken) Waesche of Sedalia, CO and Susan (Brian) Wendler of New Haven, CT; grandchildren, Sandra Waesche and Michael Waesche. Although suffering from dementia she was still very articulate and delighted her new friends and caregivers at Chandler House with stories of her childhood in South Carolina, the early days of Oak Ridge and travels with her family. The family is deeply grateful to the administration and staff at Chandler House for the care she received her last 3 years in this life by keeping her physically, intellectually and socially active, and the affirmation that she knew Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Sadly missed by many long time friends in Oak Ridge and her new friends in Jefferson City. The family suggests that donations in her honor be made to East TN Alzheimer?s Association. Funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2010 at St. Stephen?s Episcopal Church in Oak Ridge. Interment of ashes will follow the service at St. Stephen?s Memorial Gardens. The family will host a reception at the church after the interment. Arrangements by Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City, TN (865) 475-3892
