Kate DeBord

Kate Debord, age 90 of White Pine, passed away early Friday morning, August 30, 2002 at her home after a long illness. Preceded in death by her husband, Clarence E. DeBord; her daughter, Frances DeBord McCoig; and a grandson, Fred DeBord, Jr.; also her parents, Lewis L. and Pernelia Wilson Owenby. She was the oldest living member of Leadvale Baptist Church of White Pine and a member of the former Jefferson Chapter #41 OES. Survived by son, Fred DeBord, Sr. of Dandridge; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Ruby DeBord of White Pine; special grandson and his wife, Ben and Lois McCoig of White Pine; nine other grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren; brother, Hooper Owenby of Rutherfordton, NC; several other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Leadvale Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Robinson and Rev. Charles Harkleroad officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 6 until 8 p.m. prior to services. Family and friends will met at 2:15 p.m. Sunday at White Pine Cemetery for the graveside services.
