June Reese Majhor Brown ? of Minnetonka, MN formerly of Dandridge, TN passed away on the morning of September 4, 2011. She is survived by her sister, Jean Wagner, her three children, William Majhor, Philip Majhor, and Virginia Rud, and her eight grandchildren. A visitation will be held this Saturday, June 23 at 10 o?clock in the morning at Farrar Funeral Home. 162 E. Meeting St. Dandridge, TN 37725. The service will proceed to Hillcrest Cemetery for the inurnment of the cremated remains at 11:00am. June was born June 23, 1925 to Lester and Hudie Reese in Dandridge, TN. She spoke often of helping her dad at the family store or going to her grandmother?s farm in her younger years - June?s verve and generous spirit were evident early on. She enjoyed school and got her bachelor?s degree as a dietitian at Carson-Newman University. She went on to marry Walter Majhor, and together they had three boys. After Walter?s death in 1959, June returned to Tennessee and achieved her Master?s Degree at the University of Tennessee. Soon thereafter, she married Fred Brown and gave birth to her daughter, Virginia. While clearly accomplished in education and work, June?s priority and joy in life was raising her four children. Throughout her life, she took the greatest joy in seeing to the comfort and caring of her family and friends, which she did with a great sense of style and a lot of humor. She not only spent her life caring for her family, but also in service of those who need. June?s generosity to church and community were always evident whether she was stocking the food pantries of every church in the neighborhood, leading Sunday school activities and prayers, or making a host of crafts to give as gifts for Christmas or other times of need. In her retirement, she kept busy and maintained her fun spirit by playing golf, participating in bowling leagues, and regularly trouncing her grandchildren at Yatzee and Trivial Pursuit. June was an avid traveler; she lived all over the United States and spent several years in Liberia, Africa. She and Fred finally settled in the Black Hills of South Dakota where they lived for over twenty years. In the last years of her life, June lived in Norwood Young America, MN with her daughter and close to son, Philip, and her grandchildren. When she reminisced about her early years in Tennessee, she would often talk about family, school, and church. Again, she would remember her grandmother, and she would say that she had aspired to be as wonderful a grandmother as she had as a girl growing up in Tennessee. Of all her achievements, she certainly left the same legacy to her grandchildren that her grandmother left to her. She was, quite simply, the best. ARRANGMENTS BY FARRAR FUNEAL HOME, DANDRIDGE, TN
