Judith Carol Watkins, age 70 years, of Dandridge, TN, passed into the greater life on August 16th, 2014 at home of natural causes. She was born on July 4th, 1944 in Lexington, KY, to Martin and Loretta Wolverton. She grew up in Michigan and graduated from Pontiac Central High school in 1963, She married her husband of fifty years, Jerry N, Watkins, on November 30, 1963. She is survived by her spouse Jerry, her four children and their spouses, Jeff Watkins, Laura (Brian) Parker, Catherine (Terry) Brandfast, and Joseph (Kim) Watkins; eight grandchildren, Alex Parker, Katie Parker, Makayla Beason, Spencer Watkins, Skylar Watkins, Brenden Watkins, Rob Fuller, Danielle Brandfast; also by siblings and their spouses, Jim(lLeah) Wolverton, Jeri Wolverton, and Julie (Ted ) Lepczinski, and Joann (Pat )Davis, and many loving nieces and nephews, family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by a grandson, Jason Fuller.
Judy was a lady of great joy and passion, who loved her family and friends without reservation. She was a talented creative, spending countless hours over her life time playing the piano, drawing, painting, crocheting, sewing, crafting, and gardening. Her journey of faith was a road well traveled as she walked this path reaching out in prayer and study, giving of herself in service to others, and loving her Lord with the heart of a child. Judy had a special place in her heart for the Presbyterian Women, a group dedicated to working for peace and justice.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday August 21st, 2014 at Hopewell Presbyterian Church 812 Hopewell Street, Dandridge Tennessee 37725. Loved ones and friends are invited join the family for a time of celebration and remembrance to be held at the church from 5:00pm – 7:00pm, with a Memorial Service beginning at 7:00pm. Rev. Kathy Hammond, and Rev. Mike Chamberlain will officiate over the services. For memorial contributions, the family has designated Hopewell Presbyterian Church.
