Josephine Wice

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Josephine Wice announce that she went to be with her heavenly Father on September 27, 2024, at her home in Dandridge, TN. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend who left her family at the remarkable age of 96. She was born on August 30, 1928. She was one of three girls born to Sally Holt Holbert and Dellie Holbert. Her older sister, Beulah, identical twin sister, Allene, and Josie were raised by their father along with their loving grandparents, Martha and Harrison Brisentine. She grew up in Point Pleasant community of Cocke County and was a faithful member of Point Pleasant Baptist Church. She married J.C. Wice, and they had one son, Jason, their pride and joy. Josie moved to Dandridge in 1967 and started her own business, Wice Flower Shop, where she was owner and head designer for over 40 years. She served Dandridge with beautiful flowers for all occasions, specializing in weddings. During this time, she became a member of First Baptist Church in Dandridge. After her retirement, she turned her talents into cooking and baking for many of her friends and family. Josie had a life filled with love, laughter and a touch of sass. She was preceded in death by her son, Jason Wice; husband, J.C.; parents, Dellie and Sally Holbert; grandparents; sister, Beulah Jenkins; and niece, Penny Grubb. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter-in-law, Linda Wice; grandson, Josh (Cidney) Wice; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Chloe Wice; twin sister, Allene Henderson; and many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Scott and Amy Kilian, Jennifer and Craig Weiner, her Hill Street neighbors and special friend, Peggy Fain, along with Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 7:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge, TN with a visitation prior to services from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. Graveside interment will take place on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 10:00am at Point Pleasant Cemetery in Cocke County, TN.
