JOSEPH MURPHY OWENSBY, SR., age 67, of Dandridge, TN passed away Friday, February 23, 2007 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Knoxville. Preceded in death by parents, William Martin and Mary Pearl Owensby; and nephew, Ricky Whilden. Survived by companion for 18 years, Marsha Awan of Dandridge; son, Joe Ownesby, Jr. and wife, Wendee of Newport; granddaughter, Keisha Ownesby of Rogersville; sister, Pat Rogers and husband, Walt of Tigersville, SC; father-in-law, Everette Morris of Kodak; mother-in-law, Annie Coad of Sevierville; nephews, Shane Whilden of Spartanburg, SC, Joey Whilden of Roebuck, SC; nieces, Kathy and Wanda; brother-in-law, Eddie Morris and wife, Wendy of Strawberry Plains; adopted family, Tim and Deb Brooks. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2007 at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge with Rev. William Collett officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. monday for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service at Grace Baptist Church Cemetery.
