Joretta Sue Whaley

Joretta Sue Whaley, “Susie” (Bonds), age 70, of New Market, TN, formerly of Tazewell, VA and Sevierville, TN, went to be with her Savior on Sunday October 15, 2023. She was born August 2, 1953 in Dry Creek, WV and was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Tollie Pettry Bonds. Susie was a Christian and spent her early years moving frequently with her mother’s ministry as an Assemblies of God preacher. Joretta was a true heart who cared and loved all.  She spent so much time listening and serving others.  Her passion and dedication to others will never be forgotten. She devoted much of her life to serving the disabled at Douglas-Cherokee, assuring their needs and concerns were lovingly addressed. She spent the last several years thoroughly enjoying watching her grandchildren grow.

The family will hold a private service at a later date.
