John R. Treece

JOHN R. TREECE, of Jefferson City, TN, born November 9, 1945 in Jefferson City, TN. He passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at St. Mary's Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City. John was a long time resident of Jefferson City Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was a member of Boyd Chapel United Methodist Church. John graduated from Nelson Merry High School and attended Morristown College. He was passionate about football, especially the University of Tennessee Vols. He was an avid reader with a great love for western novels. He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Treece; and his mother, Florence P. Treece. John is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Clinton and Margaret T. Gulley; niece and nephew, Candice Gulley, Clinton II and Milissa Gulley and their children; cousins, James and Barbara Dean, Joseph M. Peck and Stephen and Arlene Peck and their families, Jackie Griffin, Brenda Woods, Phyllis Mason, Viola Ligon, Rudy Treece and Uncle Charles Treece; and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will meet at Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City Chapel at 12:30 p.m.Thursday, September 24, 2009 for a 1:00 p.m. funeral service with Reverend Janice Johnson officiating.
