John Thomas Tippit, Jr.

JOHN THOMAS “TOM” TIPPIT, JR., age 84, of Jefferson City, TN passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022.  He was employee of Appalachian Electric Cooperative for 50 years, a member of the First United Church of Jefferson City, and was a veteran of the Army National Guard.  Preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas Tippit, Sr. and Rebekah “Vaughan” Tippit.  He is survived by his wife, Judy Jones Tippit; son and daughter-in-law, Brian Tippit (Misty); daughter and son-in-law, Shannon McBride (Brad); grandchildren, Bryce and Megan Tippit, Drew, Hayden and Jenny Kate McBride; sister, Ann Robinson (Ronald); brother, Tilden Tippit ( Patti); and several nieces and nephews.  A special thank you by the family to Chandler House and their Memory Care Unit staff, and Amedysis Hospice.  There will be not formal visitation.  Family and friends will gather at 12:45 p.m. Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Westview Cemetery for a 1:00 p.m. graveside interment service with Pastor Kristie Banes officiating. Due to Covid, Farrar Funeral Home strongly suggests that all CDC guidelines be followed, including wearing masks.
