John Lawrence Sexton, 72, of Jefferson City, TN, passed away on January 21, 2020 at his home in Jefferson City, Tennessee. He is preceded in death by his parents, the late Carma and Stella Mills Sexton. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 22 years, Brinda Hamlin Bell Sexton and one sister, Judy Johnson of Grove City, Ohio. He is also survived by five sons: Shannon (Amy) Sexton and their daughters, Cara and Natalie; Jason Sexton and his daughters, Kylee and Kennedy; Joshua Sexton; Frank (Tammy) Bell and their children, Chelsea, Devin, Macy, and Dawson; and Tony (Krista) Bell and their children, Jordyn, Lexie, and Anthony. In addition to his eleven grandchildren, he was also blessed with four great grandchildren--Cooper and Kolby Robinson, Avery Taylor, and Indie Stella Sexton. He also leaves behind a host of close friends and his church family at The Crossing. After graduating high school, John worked for a short time at the Lennox factory in Columbus, Ohio before settling into a 22-year career with Peter Cave Mining. In his leisure time, John enjoyed fishing and was an avid, highly-skilled golfer. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 1st at 1:00 at Farrar Funeral Home with visitation beginning at noon prior to the service.
