John R. Meredith

JOHN R. MEREDITH, age 94, of Talbott, TN passed away at home on May 18, 2017. He was a member of Talbott Baptist Church, retired from Chapman Drug Company in Knoxville, and served in the U. S. Army during World War II. Preceded in death by parents, Ancil and Etta Baird Meredith; infant brother, Billy Meredith; sister, Oral Ruth Creswell; and brother, Paul Meredith. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Eveline Green Meredith; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Cheryl Meredith; grandson, John D. Meredith and wife Macqueline; granddaughter, Elizabeth Mounts and husband Todd; great-grandchildren, Addison, Jackson, John Houston, Harper and Berkleigh; sisters, Electra Brogden, and Carolyn Poole; sister-in-law, Ada Beth Meredith; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Sue Denton. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Farrar Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Henegar officiating. Graveside interment service will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens with military honors by VFW # 5266. Family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
