He is a member of the Jefferson City Church of God and served in the U. S. Army in 1944. His hobby was talking to people about the Lord and he never met a stranger. Preceded in death by parents, Alta and Warnie McGhee; grandson, Anthony D. McGhee of Kodak, TN; brother, Dedrick McGhee; sisters, Christine and Hertige; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Hazel Daniel McGhee; son, Wayne D. McGhee and wife, Patricia of Newport, TN; daughter, Janie R. McGhee Parker and husband, Michael W. Parker of Richmond, IN; grandchildren, Michael W. Parker Jr. and wife, Dena, Teressa Parker Williams and husband, Steven, all of Richmond, IN, Sgt. Jeffrey C. Parker and wife, Lorri of East Stroudsburg, PA, Amanda Wilson and husband, Scott Wilson; great grandchildren, Kaylynn Williams, Landon Williams, Spencer Parker, Brennen Parker, Preston Parker, Mitchel Parker, Craig McGhee, Chase McGhee, Caitlyn Loveday, Titus Wilson, Jordan Junod and Madison Kinder. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 9, 2007 from the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Reverend Walter Isbell and Reverend William Swafford officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 a.m. Friday, August 10, 2007 at Westview Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
