LAUDERDALE, age 75, of Strawberry Plains, TN went home to be with the Lord on August 5, 2007 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center following a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was saved late in life and was a member of Talbott Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Lauderdale; wife, Jean Lauderdale; brothers, Frank Lauderdale and David Lauderdale; and sisters, Mildred McCurary and Alene Burchell. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Jess and Dot Lauderdale of Knoxville, Mike and Tammy Lauderdale of Knoxville; daughter, Sue Lauderdale of Scott County; step-daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Rusty Messer of Talbott; sister and brother-in-law, Agnes and Fred Wallace of Strawberry Plains; sister and brother-in-law, Beulah and Delbert Dugger of Halls; sister, Nellie Sinard of Strawberry Plains; great-grandchildren, Tyler Lauderdale of Knoxville and McKenzie Lauderdale of Rutledge; ten grandchildren, including Josh Lauderdale of Knoxville and Clay Messer of Talbott; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives; and special friend, Mary Yardley. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Reverend Jerry Utsman and Reverend Larry Young officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will gather at Farrar Funeral Home at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, August 9, 2007 to proceed to Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery for a 6:00 p.m. graveside interment service.
