JOHN WESLEY LANE, age 75, of White Pine, TN went to be with our Lord on October 21, 2012 at home with his family at his bedside. He was a proud retired US Army veteran, serving 3 years as an MP and 17 years E.O.D. bomb disposal. Then he began his law enforcement career with 1 year at White Pine Police Department and 14 years at the city of Dandridge Police Department. After retirement from law enforcement, he started his own business at the Millstone Bar and Grill, which he operated for 10 years. He then completely retired to spend all of his time with family. He is preceded in death by parents, Azer, Sr. and Victoria Lane; brothers, Gene, Robert and Azer, Jr. Lane; sisters, Lynne Richardson, Mary Province, Gladys Chrisman, Anna Bee Woods and Ruby Grant; father-in-law, Josef Wolf. Survived by wife of 47 years, Elfie Lane of the home; daughters, Tracey Lane Kinsler (Gary) of Talbott, and Tammy Lane Askew of White Pine; sons, Anthony (Tony) Lane of White Pine and Johnny Lane (Kimberly) of Newbern, NC; grandchildren, Jordon and Katelyn Askew of White Pine, Jake Layel of Bean Station, Alison Kinsler and Becky Kinsler Rines of Talbott, Monqui and Kendhra Lane of Newbern, NC; great-grandsons, Bentley Askew and Joshua Rines; brother, Norman Lane (Jean) of Dandridge; and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks goes to Amedisys Hospice staff. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Farrar Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Hensley officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside interment service with military honors will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Swannsylvania Cemetery.
