OBITUARY:
JOHN DOUGLAS JORDAN, age 77,of Knoxville, TN, born November 19, 1929 in Sylva, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2007 at UT Medical Center. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Knoxville, serving on various committees, including Trustees. Veteran of the U. S. Army, Korea Action, serving at 118 Station Hospital, Fukuoka, Japan. He was a graduate of Western Carolina University. Twenty-one years as technical laboratory representative of Scientific Products/American Hospital. Co-inventor of two Immunodiagnostic products and research chemist and co-founder of JCL Clinical Research Corporation, and Concepto Diagnostics Corporation. Recently chemist with EDP Biotech Corporation. Preceded in death by parents, William and Louetta Jordan of Sylva, North Carolina; and brother, William Kenneth Jordan of Waynesville, North Carolina. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Tommye Ann Armstrong Jordan; daughter and family, Maxie and Addison Schneiter and granddaughter, Pauline of Knoxville; daughter and family, Marsha and Tommy Donati of Hendersonville, North Carolina; grandson and family, Scott and Jennifer Donati; great-grandsons, Alex and Sean of Asheville, North Carolina; grandson and family, Wesley and Kristi Donati; great-grandchildren, Amber, Caleb, Joshua, and Kayla of Hendersonville, North Carolina; son and family, Michael and Michelle Jordan; granddaughter, Shonee Jordan, and great-granddaughter, Ashley; grandsons, John and Robert Jordan of Las Vegas, Nevada; son and family, David Jordan; granddaughter and family, Christen and Jon Wise of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister and brother, Blanche Sauer of Valdese, North Carolina and Arthur Jordan of Tennessee; sister-in-law, Carolyn Jordan of Waynesville, North Carolina; special nephews, Kent and Millicent Jordan of Forest Hill, Maryland, and Boyd Jordan of Anchorage, Alaska; special uncle and aunt, John R. and Alice Shepherd of Sylva, North Carolina; special family, Mrs. Jeanette Rimmer and family of Dandridge, Tennessee; and special family friends, Mrs. Nita Potter and family of Johnson City, Tennessee. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2007 at Hopewell Presbyterian Cemetery in Dandridge, Tennessee with Rev. Mike Jackson, Rev. Charlie Hurlock, and Rev. Ron Fisher officiating. Family and friends may meet at Hopewell Presbyterian at 3:30 p.m. the day of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church Memorials, 3316 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37919.
Pallbearers will be Kent Jordan, Jerry Rimmer, Bill Rimmer, John Rimmer, Steve Rimmer, Dr. Al Beasley, Jack Smith and Tom Potter III, Honorary pallbearers will be The Christian Forum Class.
