John W. “Johnny” Carmichael, age 86 of Talbott, was born on April 12, 1937 and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. He was founder of Carmichael Excavation and Kansas-Talbott Volunteer Fire Department, member of Talbott Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and served as Constable for 16 years for the 9th District (Talbott).
He is preceded in death by his parents, O.D. and Pearl Thomas Carmichael, brother, Dale E. Carmichael, sister, Evelyn F. Breeden. The loved ones left to carry on his legacy are his wife of 65 years, Gereldean B. Carmichael, brother, George “Buck” Carmichael; son, James E. (Bonnie) Carmichael, daughter, Debbi (Steve) Finchum; grandchildren, Angel (Eddie) Eden, Amber (Ryan) Driggs, Joshua Finchum, Lilli Eckenrod, Jessica Eckenrod Tesia Rice; great-grandchildren, Nicholas (Lyndsy Greenlee) Liveri, Xavier (Emily Hunt) King, Addilyn and Rylee Driggs; nephew, Buddy Carmichael, niece, Jeanie (David) Miller.
The family with receive friends on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 4-7:00 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City and friends may pay their respects from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. if they so choose. He will Lie-in-State from10-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Ebenezer Methodist Church with funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Scott Cline officiating. Graveside interment service will immediately follow in Ebenezer Cemetery. The family has requested in Lieu of Flowers, please make monetary donations to Kansas-Talbott Volunteer Fire.
