John “Jack” Manning Jr, age 82, of Kodak, TN passed away at his home on Thursday, March 27, 2014. He was an avid born again Christian and a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church. He was also a 50 year Mason and was active in French Broad F&AM Lodge #588, and member of Charles H. McKinney Lodge #433. Jack was a KUB Lineman for several years before an accident took both of his arms in 1970. He has served on the County Commission in Sevier County. He is preceded in death by his wife- Clara Ann Bowling Manning, sisters- Mary McMahan, Wilma Moore, Edna Tate, Carolyn Taylor and Mildred Fox, brother; Kenneth L. Manning and parents, John E. and Zelma Manning. Survivors include his children; Diane and Carl Ricketts, Jackie and Mike McGill, Jerry and Cheri Manning, grandchildren; Bryan Loveday, Amy K. and Mark Edmands, Joshua Coppenger, Jonathan and P.J. Coppenger, Lauren Manning, Christopher Manning and Drew McGill, great-grandchildren; Katee Edmands, Collin Edmands, Karlee Edmands, Bryanna Loveday, Harrison Coppenger, Hudson Coppenger, brothers; Lawrence G. Manning, Ray E. Manning and wife Polly, Allen Manning and wife Betty and Bob Manning, several nieces, nephews and other family members. Masonic Rites will be given at 6:00pm prior to the Funeral Services on Saturday, March 29, 2014, 6:00pm at Beech Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Richard Compton officiating and the church choir delivering musical selections. Family will receive friends from 4-6:00pm prior to funeral service. Military Graveside Interment will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2014, 2:00pm in Hills Union Cemetery, with the Rev. Brandon Cate officiating.
