John W. Hudson

John W. Hudson, age 87, retired farmer, of Jefferson City, TN died at home on Tuesday, December 10, 2002. He was a graduate of Jefferson City High School and Carson Newman College. He taught and coached at Mosheim High School, Jefferson High School and was principal of New Market Elementary School. He was a crop hail adjuster for 54 years; past president of the Jefferson City Lions Club; district governor or the Lions Club International and elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Marjorie Cates Hudson; his parents, K. P. and Mary Hudson and brother, James Hudson. He is survived by six children, John W. Hudson, Jr. of Danville, KY, Jane E. Hudson, Libby Gardner, Mala Skeen and Marjorie Keith Helton, all of Jefferson City, and Judy H. Warren of Centreville, VA; brother, Floyd N. Hudson; and sisters, Dorothy Walker, Jenny Quarles and Betty Jo Kinnick; thirteen grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City on Friday, December 13, 2002 with visitation from 6 until 8 p.m. and a memorial service at 8 p.m. with Dr. Calvin Metcalf officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2002 at the funeral home to proceed to Westview Cemetery for 10:00 a.m. interment services.
