John L. Chilton

JOHN L. CHILTON, age 91, of White Pine, TN passed away Monday evening, January 14, 2008 at Jefferson County Nursing Home. He was a prominent farmer of Jefferson County, who had a dedicated passion for his livelihood. Veteran of the U. S. Army and World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Chilton; parents, Lute and Mayme Shadden Chilton; sisters, Mary Pritchett and Janie Ingram. He is survived by his sisters, Doris Gillette of Oak Ridge, Hannah Jaynes of White Pine, and Betty Cole of Morristown; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the entire staff of the Jefferson County Nursing Home for their compassionate loving care of John and all the residents they care for each and every day. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to your favorite charity. Funeral services will be Friday, 7:00 p.m. at the Farrar White Pine Chapel with Dr. Sonny Strange officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Jarnigan Cemetery for the interment graveside service with Rev. Mark McFadden presiding.
