JOHN ALFRED BROWN, age 85, of Jefferson City, TN passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Life Care Center. He was born in Leeville, TN. He served in the US Navy for 9 years, was a graduate of the University of Tennessee, member of Magna View Baptist Church, was a retired employee of Phillips Consumer Electronics and the Jefferson County Educators Credit Union. Preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Ottie Brown; sisters, Kathaleen Morse, Leah Tucker and Willodeane Jennings. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patsy (Pat) Brown; children, Cheryl Collins, Bradley (Misty) Brown, Keith (Bristal) Brown, Jeffrey (Kelly) Brown; grandchildren, Kris Kendrick, Zackary Brown, Bekah Brown, Nathan Brown, Hannah Brown, Jack Brown, Ellie Brown, Olivia Brown and Brighton Brown. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City with Rev. George Miller and Dr. Donald Garner officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will gather at 9:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home to proceed to Jefferson Memorial Gardens for a 10:00 a.m. entombment service.
