Joe H. Sanford

JOE H. SANFORD? age 78 of Jefferson City, passed away on December 3, 2008 at University of Tennessee Medical Center. He was born in Jackson, Tennessee on October 17, 1930. He was a 1952 graduate of the University of Tennessee. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Farm Credit Services in 1985. He was a respected farmer in Jefferson County for many years. Joe was a member of First Baptist Church in Jefferson City having served as a deacon, various committees, and usher for numerous years. He was a hard working family man. He loved his family; he never met a stranger and was a friend to all. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth Brooks Sanford and John Lawson Sanford. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Inez Sanford, brothers, Jamie and Jule Sanford, sister Elina Sanford; children, Joel Ray Sanford and wife Jennifer; Paul Sanford and wife Pam; Annette Sanford Stooksbury and husband Brian; grandchildren, Elizabeth Stooksbury, Brant Stooksbury, Joseph Sanford, Andrew Sanford, and Tanner Sanford. The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 7th at First Baptist Church in Jefferson City. The funeral will be on Monday, December 8th at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Gene Wilder and Reverend Mike Hensley officiating; Graveside service and interment immediately following at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
