JOE DENTON “J.D.” PATTERSON, age 86 of Dandridge, TN passed away Tuesday morning, January 16, 2018 at his home. He was a life-long resident of Dandridge, the son of the late Joe and Maude (Denton) Patterson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Churchwell Patterson; sisters, Flora Moore and Wanda Moore; extended family, David and Christopher Voiles. He was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy (1955-1957) and served several terms on the Dandridge City Council. J.D. was a retired truck driver for Tennessee Truck Lines after many years of service and following retirement he worked for the Jefferson Co. Highway Dept. He is survived by his son, J.J. &Tammy Patterson; grandson, Jacob Patterson; extended family, Carolyn Voiles, Bill and Kaye Churchwell; Larry and Doris Churchwell; Chris and Angela Owens, Larry and Stephanie Churchwell, Nick Churchwell, Jeremy and Trish Churchwell, Sasa and Emily Martinovic and Jessica Churchwell and families; special friends, Milton and Bobbie Kinner, Larry and Barbara Martin, Greg Gann, Ken Scott, Bob Layman and the many friends at Owens Restaurant, Jefferson Co. Nursing Home, and the Darby House; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Dandridge Ministerial Association (Food Pantry), P.O. Box 826, Dandridge, TN 37725. Funeral services will be held, Thursday, January 18, 2018, 7:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Thompson officiating. Interment graveside services will be Friday, 11:00am at Dandridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends, Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00pm prior to services at FARRAR FUNERAL HOME, DANDRIDGE
