Joe “Bud” Duckett, 87, of Dandridge, TN went home on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. Joe was born May 22, 1929 in Grassy Fork TN to the late Chan and Ada Price Duckett. Joe served honorably in the Korean War, where he received the Presidential Unit Citation, Combat Infantry Badge, United Nations Service medal, Korean Service, National Defense Service and China Campaign Medals during his service. Married to the love of his life, Pauline for over 55 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Artie Cagle, Victoria Black and Gertrude McGaha; and his grandchild, Creole Duckett. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Duckett; his sister, Jewel and Harold Bird; his children – Joe and Monica Duckett, Phillip and Susan Duckett, Julie and Dale Newman; grandchildren, Joseph Duckett, Robin Foster, Caleb Duckett, Landon Duckett, Chandler Duckett, Hannah Newman, and Haley Newman; great grandchildren, Paxton Foster, Payden Foster, Jackson Duckett and Zoey Duckett; along with several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank everyone for their support during this time along with Smokey Mountain Home Health.
Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, July 19,2016, 7:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charlie Shipley officiating. Interment graveside services with military honors will be Wednesday, 10:00am at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00pm prior to services at FARRAR FUNERAL HOME DANDRIDGE.
