JoAnne W. Vest of New Market, TN passed away at her home on March 21, 2024 at the age of 82. After a hard fought battle with colon cancer and lung disease. She is preceded in death, her parents, J.E. and Nettie Williams, Sr.; sisters, Dora Mae Atkins, Beatrice Carney and Emma Jane Waldrop. Survived by husband of 63 years, William L. Vest; children, William L. (Teresa)Vest, Jr. and Malinda (Jeff)Vest; grandchildren, Travis (Mady) Vest and Alex Vest; sisters, Barbara Bounds and Carolyn (Kenneth) Blake; brother, Jack (Carol) Williams; special extended family members, the Daniel Family, the Johnson Family and Payton Smith. JoAnne was known for her dedicated service in her community through The American Cancer Society, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, International Order of Rainbow for Girls, Order of Eastern Star, Jefferson County High School Athletic Booster Club, and APTA which she got involved in by working at Glenmore Mansion and The First Presbyterian Church of Jefferson City. JoAnne was known by many as an extraordinarily talented seamstress and baker. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2024 at First Presbyterian Church of Jefferson City. Service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Glenda Hollingshead officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon at Farrar Funeral Home to proceed to Jefferson Memorial Gardens for a 2:30 p.m. graveside service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Jefferson City, 721 Church Street, Jefferson City, TN 37760. May her cakes be just as sweet in heaven as they were on earth.
