JILSON “JAY” WILLIAMS, age 74, of Jefferson City, TN passed away at 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Serenity House following a brief illness. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Jefferson City, former president of Friends of the Library, retired from the U. S. Navy with 20 years of service, and was a retired pharmacist from CVS and Wal Mart with 20 plus years of service. Preceded in death by his parents, J. Frank and Flo Williams. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Judy Williams; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Kristin Williams of Jefferson City, TN; grandchildren, Lorali and Enoch Williams; sister, Carolyn Conrad of Charlotte, SC; one niece and several nephews. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2014 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Wilder officiating. Family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Graveside interment service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2014 at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery with military honors given by Volunteer State Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Friends of the Library, 1427 Russell Avenue, Jefferson City, TN 37760, or First United Methodist Church, 2011 Branner Avenue, Jefferson City, TN 37760.
