Jerry W. Harris

JERRY W. HARRIS, age 58, of Jefferson City, TN and formerly of Big Laurel, KY, passed away at 9:25 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2006 at his residence following an extended illness. He was of the Baptist faith. A retired coal miner with 44 years of service, he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed his time fishing on Cherokee Lake. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Sheila Harris; daughter, Melissa Johnson of Knoxville, TN; son, James W. Harris of Jefferson City, TN; grandchildren, Princeton Wells, Ci'era Wells and Preston Wells; sisters, Charlotte Bailey of KY, Norma Jean Boggs of KY, Faye Miniard of KY; brothers, Darrell Turner of KY, frank Harris of KY; and several nieces and nephews. The family will have a private memorial funeral service which will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Mary Ellen Darby, 1321 Laurel Hills Circle, Jefferson City, TN 37760.
