Jerry DeWayne Gilliam, age 51, of Rutledge, TN passed away suddenly and entered his heavenly home on August 26, 2021. He was a kind and gentle soul who loved his son, loved to cook, and the great outdoors. He was devoted to his family. For the last 23 years Jerry was a mining consultant in the mining industry of Harlan County. Jerry loved his Tennessee and Kentucky friends, and enjoyed boating and fishing as a pastime. He always wore a smile, always made you laugh, and was an inspiration to all who knew him. He was completely dedicated to his family and friends. Jerry is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Elmo and Phyllis Gilliam; maternal grandparents, Homer Hill and Juanita Hill Scott. He leaves behind a son, Brennan Gilliam; parents, Jerry and Yvonne Gilliam; brothers and sister, Alecia Hill ( Adam), Eric Gilliam (Lesli), and Brian Gilliam (Whitney); several nieces, nephews, and extended family which he loved dearly. Friends may pay their respects from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 30, 2021 at Farrar Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Jefferson Memorial Gardens with Rev.
