She was very active in her community as a member of Dandridge First United Methodist Church, Dandridge Senior Citizens Rhythm Band, Jefferson County Rescue Squad Crewettes, Martha Dandridge Garden Club, and the Shady Grove Home Demonstration Club. She was the daughter of the late. J. J. Gaddis and Dora Reese Gaddis. Preceded in death by husbands, Clyde Haskell Scarlett and A. A. "Stimp" Case; daughter, Mary Ruth Scarlett; grandson, Rick Scarlett; sisters, Maggie Bull, Lela Brimer and Florence Gaddis; brothers, Bill, D. R., Tinsley, Luther and Hal Gaddis. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Janice Scarlett; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Roy Humbard; grandson, Clyde Scarlett and wife, Linda; sister, Rozella Caton of Cleveland, OH; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2008 at the Farrar Dandridge Chapel with Reverend Larry DeVault and Reverend John Thompson officiating. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
