Jeannette Deal Lewis

Mrs. Jeanette Deal Lewis passed away surrounded by her family at home in Baneberry, TN on May 25, 2019 at the age of 67. Jeanette is survived by her husband and high school sweetheart Donald Lewis, her siblings: Jean Rice of Cumberland, KY, Linda Powers (Michael) of Jefferson City,TN and Donald Deal (Lorene) of Partridge, KY, and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Johnny and Julia Deal of Cumberland, KY and her sister Brenda Chandler of Big Stone Gap, VA. Jeanette was born on April 5, 1952 in Benham, KY to Johnny and Julia Deal. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Education from Eastern Kentucky University and her master’s degree from Union College. A devoted Special Education teacher, Jeanette was known for her commitment to each of her students, even after they had left her classroom. She was a generous and caring education professional for 32 years. Jeanette loved to work in her flower garden and would spent many hours with her beautiful flowers. She was an active and dedicated member of the Calvary Baptist Church in White Pine, TN. A local visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Farrar Funeral Home in White Pine, TN from 5pm to 7pm with service to follow at 7:00pm in the chapel with Rev. Josh Spurgeon officiating. A visitation is scheduled at Tri-City Funeral Home in Benham, KY from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Monte Vista Cemetery in Cumberland, KY, Pastor TH Ferrell will officiate the ceremony.
