Jeanne Deprez West, age 92, passed away peacefully at her Jefferson City home on Saturday, January 26, 2013, with family at her side.Born January 23, 1921 in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Irma Micheaux Deprez and the wife of the late Jack Richard West.Having worked as a ship-yard welder during World War II, she was a retired home maker and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worshipped and studied faithfully with family and friends at First United Methodist Church in Jefferson City. She is survived by her twin sister, Martha McGuire of Charleroi, Pennsylvania; son, Kenneth West of Sandusky, Ohio; son, Richard West and wife Kitty of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter, Janice Gangwer and husband Tom of Knoxville; daughter, Linda Schumann and husband Tom of Jefferson City; eight grandchildren, Dan West of Rochester, Minnesota, Jeff West of Sandusky ,Ohio, Karyn West Jensen of Avon, Ohio, Tracy Gangwer of Medford, Massachusetts, Donna Gangwer Kirkham of Seattle, Washington, Lynn Gangwer Millar of New Carlisle, Ohio, Amanda Schumann of Roswell, Georgia, and Kathryn Schumann of Gainesville, Virginia; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 29, at 4:00 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Jefferson City with Reverend Doug Wilder officiating. Farrar Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of the church.
