JASON MILLER, age 86, of Dandridge, TN passed away Sunday, March 4, 2007 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Preceded in death by wife of 53 years, Johnny Morie Miller; parents, John C. Miller, Sr., and Elizabeth Corbett Miller; and brothers, Jimmie H. Miller and John C. Miller, Jr., He attended Berea College for two years before serving in the Army Air Corps on the island of Guam in WWII. Upon returning, he worked for 27 years for the New Jersey Zinc Mines in Jefferson City. He was a member of the Dandridge Volunteer Fire Department for many years, and served the Town of Dandridge for over 50 years in the capacities of City Recorder, City Judge, Alderman and Vice-Mayor. He was a member and past Commander of VFW Post 3380 for many years. He was a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church of Dandridge, where he served on the finance committee. He is survived by daughters, Gail Miller and Ann (Ricky) Fox of Dandridge; son, Darrell (Pamela) Miller of Kodak; brother, Howard (Dorothy) Miller; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church of Dandridge with Rev. Larry DeVault and Dr. Robert McCray officiating. Military graveside interment services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Dandridge First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 8, Dandridge, TN 37725.
