Jannie Riley Bettis, age 92 of Jefferson City, Tennessee passed away at 12:15 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2002 at the Life Care Center of Jefferson City. She was a member of Lebanon-Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a former employee of Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare. She was preceded in death by her husband, Huvel Bettis; sisters, Josie Corbett, Roselle Rimmer, Nannie Miller Brooks and Nina Bearman; brothers, Treval Riley and Taylor Riley. She is survived by her daughter, Jewell Kerr of Knoxville; daughter and son-in-law, Georgia and Goerge "Sonny" Moore of Talbott; grandchildren, Suzie Smith, John Kerr, James Kerr, Melinda Goddard, Joseph Kerr, David Moore and Patrick Moore; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Mattie Woods of Dandridge and Mary Cate Akley of Mt. Morris, Illinois; sister-in-law, Hattie Pearl Gann of Jefferson City; and very special friend, Barbara Kirk of Jefferson City. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2002 at the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Sonny Strange officiating. Graveside interment services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at the Lebanon-Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home to proceed to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2002 at the funeral home.
