Janie Ruth Thacker

JANIE RUTH YOUNG THACKER, age 84, of Jefferson City, TN passed away September 10, 2023. She was born on January 27, 1939 in New Market, TN. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Jefferson City Water department, Jefferson Elementary School and finally at Jefferson County High School, retiring in 1998. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 61 years, Bobby. She is survived by her son, Randy and his wife, Cyndie; daughter, Laura Jane Walker and her husband Steve; five adult grandchildren, Zach (Crystal) Walker, Nathan (Elizabeth) Thacker, Will Hutchens, Daniel Thacker, Grayson Walker and two great grandchildren, Rhett and Hadleigh Walker. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City. A graveside internment service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Gardens with Dr. Gene Wilder officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Jefferson City Benevolence Fund (1610 Russell Ave. Jefferson City, TN, 37760).
