Janice Gail (Briggs) McKinney

JANICE GAIL (BRIGGS) McKINNEY, a loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at the age of 72. She was a member of Nina Baptist Church. Janice played the piano for Swanns Chapel Church for many years and was a member of the Swanns Chapel Singers. She is preceded in death by her mother, Willie Frances Briggs. Janice is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Wayne McKinney; daughters, Tina (Scott) McMahon and Renee Morgan; grandchildren, Amber Cate, Kennedy Morgan, Dalton Morgan and Cole Cate; great-grandchildren, Clayton Russell and Sally Barry; father, Charles (Dean) Briggs; brothers, Gary (Betsy) Briggs and Craig (Terri) Briggs; nieces and nephews, Ryan (Kim) Briggs, Cliff (Danielle) Briggs and Megan (Jordan) Knight; great nieces and nephews, Kamdyn Briggs, Mackenzie Briggs, Hadilee Briggs, Finley Knight and Garrison Knight. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Jefferson Memorial Hospital for their outpouring of love during their difficult time. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Nina Baptist Church with a funeral service to follow at 7:00pm with Reverend Jimmy Norris and Reverend Charlie Brewer officiating. The graveside interment will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 11:00am at Swanns Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers include Dalton Morgan, Cole Cate, Cliff Briggs, Ryan Briggs, Mark Smallman and Jerry Ivey. Honorary pallbearer is Clayton Russell.
