Jane Caroline (May) McCosh

JANE CAROLINE (MAY) MCCOSH, age 77, of Dandridge, TN was born October 27, 1933 in Sweetwater, TN. She went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 13, 2010, after a long and very courageous battle with cancer. Although she will be greatly missed by all who knew her, family and friends do rejoice in the knowledge that she is now at rest with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Jane was a friend to all who knew her. Although her husband, Earl has held many titles as Pastor, Reverend, Colonel and Doctor, Jane was a very integral part of his 47 years of service, ministry and education. She was a great strength and support to her family and her church throughout her entire life. Many church members considered her the best pastor?s wife they had ever had. Jane graduated from Sweetwater High School and was a bookkeeper for many businesses, along with being a wonderful homemaker for her family and friends. Jane was preceded in death by her father and mother, Robert F. and Josie May; brothers, R. F., George, Olan and Jerry May; sister, Imogene Garbett; and grandmother, Tressie Isbell. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Earl; sons and their wives, Kendall and Lynne of Knoxville, Devon and Connie of White Pine, Rodney and Pamela of Morristown; grandchildren, Brandon (Jena) McCosh, Shane (Kelly) McCosh of Knoxville, Wesley McCosh, Caroline McCosh of Morristown, Hannah Spradling and Marissa McCosh of White Pine, J. T. (Jenny) Smith and Jenny Smith of Knoxville; four great-grandchildren, Corbin, Kayliegh, Bailee and Blair of Knoxville; brothers, Donald (Dru) May of Jonesboro, GA, Dwight (Sandra) May of Blaine, TN; sister, Phyllis (David) Bettis of Milner, GA; sisters-in-law, Rose (Chester) Walton and Geraldene (Clifton) Watson of Sweetwater, TN; brother-in-law, Sanford (Linda) McCosh of Jonas Ridge, NC; sister-in-law, Virginia May of Sweetwater, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends. The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church of Dandridge, TN from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2010. The funeral service will be at French Broad Baptist Church in Dandridge on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral. The family will also receive friends at Kyker?s Funeral Home in Sweetwater, TN on Friday, December 17 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Tom Dagle, Rev. John Fultz, LTC. Howard Murphy and Rev. Samuel Parker officiating. Interment in Sweetwater Valley Memorial Park will follow the service.
