Jamie Emeline Berrier Hughes, a longtime resident of the Dandridge, TN area, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Friday August 29, 2014 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. A Sunset on Earth – A Sunrise in Heaven
Jamie was born on September 26, 1943. She was known for her ease in frequent conversation and entertaining sense of humor. Jamie loved classic movies, Pepsi, the beach and had an energy that could light up a room. Nothing made Jamie happier than being a Mom, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister and Aunt. Her signature of courage and joy, shown through her life will never be forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Jimmy Hughes; daughter Tamy Hughes; and daughter-in-law Debbie Hughes. Survivors are her aunt, Frances Swann, her four siblings; Charles Berrier and wife Ellie; Joe Berrier and wife BJ; Molly Beth Levy and husband Steve; Chere' Davis and husband Roger.
Children include Sonny Hughes; Tommy Hughes and wife Sherry; Joe Hughes and wife Jennifer; and Adam Hughes and wife DeAnna. Grandchildren include: Kayla Hughes, Savanna Hughes, Whitni Miller, Jackson Hughes, Travis Seals and Jason Morgan. Great grandchildren: Lily Hughes, Lincoln Miller, Dylan Hensley, Makayla Hensley and Kelsey Hensley.A celebration of Jamie’s life will be held on Tuesday September 2, 2014 from 5-7PM followed with a memorial service at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church located at 686 Goose Creek Rd Dandridge, TN 37725 (865-397-2773). The Rev. John D. Thompson will preside.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be sent to Mt. Zion Methodist Church.
