James Fredrick Vick, age 83 of White Pine, born Jan. 12, 1932 died July 20, 2015 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. He is preceded in death by his parents; Scott and Sallie Vick of Parrottsville.
Jim was a proud graduate of Parrottsville High School Class of 1950, after high school he joined the US Air Force and served from 1950-1954, while in the Air Force he was serving in England and this is where he met Audrey his wife, they were married on July 19, 1952 at St. Peters Church in Kent, England. Jim and Audrey moved to White Pine in 1954 after his service to our country was over, and that is where they have lived ever since then. Jim retired after 36 years of service as a cable repairman for South Central Bell. He also has served the community in several different ways; a Boy Scout Leader for Troop #78, as a charter member of White Pine Ruritan Club, Telephone Pioneers, White Pine Water Board for several years and as a clown for the Special Olympics for many years. The family would like to express a Special Thank You to the White Pine Community, Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, HomeInstead Health Care and his caregivers Holly and Dez, and the White Pine Fire Department First Responders for all their help over the past few years.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Audrey Elizabeth (Richards) Vick, children; Richard Vick of Morristown, Robert (Stephanie) Vick of Dandridge and Elizabeth (Larry) Mefford of Morristown, grandchildren; Daniel (Delaney) Vick, Dara Vick, Tori Vick, Andrew Vick, Emily Vick, Laura Mefford, Jennifer Mefford, Nathan Trower and Leah Trower, brother Tommy (Judean) Vick of Newport, sisters; Mary Ruth (Kenneth) Dean of White Pine, Charlotte (Donald) Dockery of Limestone, Barbara (Dale) Fox of Newport, also several nieces, nephews and other family members. Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 4-7:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home, White Pine, Family and Friends will gather at White Pine Cemetery on Friday, July 24, 2015, 11:00am for a Military Graveside Service, giving Honors will be VFW Post #5266. The family has requested that In Lieu of Flowers memorials be made to White Pine Fire Dept, P.O. Box 1086, White Pine, TN 37890 or to the Choir at First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 146, White Pine, TN 37890
