We honor the life of James Ryan Stokes—a name fondly known to his friends as Ryan, but a legend to those who knew and loved him. Born on October 11, 1972, in the heart of Georgia, Ryan called Jefferson City, Tennessee his home when he peacefully left this world on February 6, 2025, at the honorable age of 52.
For those of us who knew Ryan, it will always bring a smile to our faces as we remember that trademark work ethic and unwavering personality. Ryan found his passion under the hood of a car. With grease-stained fingers and a heart full of zeal, he turned that passion into reality by building his very own auto mechanic business—a dream that roared to life like the engines he loved so much.
Ryan was never just about cars, though. He was a loving father, son, and brother. Ryan leaves behind a legacy in his children : Tyler, Devon, Julia, and Brayden, and grandchildren: Raylee, Ryan, Jason, and Jaxon, each reflecting facets of the man he was—dedicated, tough, and caring.
The joy Ryan found in family extended beyond his home. He was a child at heart when it came to cheering for his beloved Georgia Bulldogs. Every game day was an event, filled with laughter, spirited shouts, and shared moments—a testament to his loyalty and zest for life.
While we bid him farewell, we remember that his life was a tapestry knitted with love by those he shared it with. Ryan is reunited with his father, James Stokes, and his brother, Robby Watts, both of whom predeceased him. Meanwhile, his memory is lovingly held by his mother, Judy Holley, and his sisters, Beverly Randall and Kim Beck, children and grandchildren as they continue his story.
Ryan's life will be celebrated in a special way as his spirit remains close to us through cremation services handled with the utmost care by Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City. While we now hold him in our hearts rather than our hands, may the love he inspired continue to drive us forward, just as he would have wanted. In lieu of flowers or donations we ask to keep his family in your most sacred prayers for peace and comfort.
