JAMES "Boogerman" STEELE, JR., age 61, of Kodak, TN, formerly of Slaters Branch (Chattaroy), KY, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center, Knoxville, TN. He was a retired coal miner with 37 years of service and was a life long Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan. Following retirement, he moved to Tennessee so he could be near Douglas Lake, his favorite place where he enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, James and Lucy (Robinson) Steele, Sr.; daughter, Billie Joann Steele; sisters, Della Chapman, Vonceal Triplett and Ella Norman. Survived by his wife of 42 years, Geraldine Smith Steele; daughters, Pamela (Rodney) Bower of McVeigh, KY, Tina (Jody) Todd of Turkey Creek, KY; sons, James Frank Steele and Jeremy (Kristi) Steele, both of Slaters Branch, KY. He was loved by 7 granddaughters, Shelby Steele and Shauna Steele of Turkey Creek, KY, Meghan, Lynzi and Chasity Bower, all of McVeigh,KY, Kaitlyn Steele of Williamson, WV, Mickah Steele of Slaters Branch, KY; brothers, William (Loretta) Steele of Atlanta, GA, Lorenz (Carol) Steele of Washington, PA and Elbert (Nocha)Steele of Dandridge, TN;special nephews, Ronnie Estepp of Sidney, KY and Mike Estepp of Dawsonville, GA; and a host of other nieces and nephews and a world of friends. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
