He was of the Baptist faith, a farmer, and retired from Wolf Tree Experts. Preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Nannie Smith and sister, Lennore Talley. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ruby Smith of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Darrell (Driskill) Kerr of New Market; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Tonya Smith of Morristown; three grandsons, Andrew Kerr, Calvin and Seth Smith; brothers and sisters-in-law, C. F. and Doris Smith; Elmer and Bobbie Smith of Rutledge; sisters and brothers-in-law, Polly and David Tate of Rutledge; Kathryn Satterfield of Jefferson City; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2007 at the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Reverend Kyle Cate officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the funeral home and proceed to Mill Springs Baptist Church Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
