SIMS, age 95, of Dandridge, TN passed away Monday, April 9, 2007 at Jefferson County Nursing Home. He was born December 19, 1911 in Sevier County, TN, the son of the late John and Annie Sims. Preceded in death by his wife, Vera Sims; brothers, Fred and Les Sims; sister, Mary Loveday. Jim served in the U. S. Army and World War II, and following his military service, he was a farmer and former owner/operator of German Creek Boat Dock in Grainger County. He is survived by his nieces, Doris Cogdill of Sevierville and special niece, Sue Lane of White Pine, TN; several nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at the Farrar Dandridge Chapel with Reverend Brian Osborne officiating. Graveside interment services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Knoxville. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
